01What do these terms cover?
These terms apply when you create an account, use the dashboard or add the Octo Assist widget to a website. By using the service you agree to them. If you use it for a company, you agree for that company.
02Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep your password private.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You must be at least 18, or old enough to make a contract where you live.
03Plans, billing and cancelling
- Paid plans renew automatically each month or year, as shown on the plan, and are charged through Stripe.
- You can cancel any time from your billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- We don't refund partial periods, except where the law requires it.
- If we change a plan's price, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
04Where can you use the widget?
Only on websites you own or are allowed to manage, and only up to the number of websites your plan includes. Each install code works on the domain you registered for it.
05What the widget does and doesn't do
The widget gives your visitors tools to adjust how your pages look and behave. It does not fix your website's code, and it does not make your website conform to WCAG or comply with the ADA, the European Accessibility Act or any other law.
You remain responsible for the accessibility of your website and for meeting any legal duties that apply to you. Read what widgets can and can't do.
06Acceptable use
- Don't use the service to break the law or harm others.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of the service.
- Don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service, except where the law allows it.
07Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. If our servers can't be reached, the widget is built to keep showing with default settings. We may improve, change or remove features over time.
08Ownership
We own the service, the widget and this website. You own your content and your website. You give us permission to use your website settings and reports only to provide the service to you.
09Ending the service
You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that doesn't pay or that breaks these terms. We'll tell you first when we reasonably can.
10Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date, and tell customers by email about important changes. Questions? Email support@example.com.
