Octo Assist

About us

We make websites easier to read for everyone

Octo Assist gives every visitor tools to adjust the page in front of them. We build it to be honest, private and light.

What we believe

  • Honest about limits

A script can't fix a website's code. We say so plainly, and we never promise compliance.

  • Private by design

Visitor settings stay in the visitor's own browser. No cookies, no tracking, no profiles.

  • Never break the site

The widget stays small, keeps to its own layer and changes nothing until a visitor asks.

Why did we build Octo Assist?

People read the web in very different ways. Some need bigger text or calmer colors. Some use a keyboard instead of a mouse. Some lose their place in long paragraphs. Most websites only offer one way to read them.

Octo Assist gives every visitor a simple panel to adjust the page they are on, in their own language, and remembers their choices. Site owners add it with one line of code.

How do we build it?

  • The widget itself is built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA: it works with a keyboard, is labeled for screen readers and keeps text contrast at 4.5:1 or more.
  • We test with automated checks, keyboard-only use and screen readers.
  • It runs in its own sealed layer, works with strict security policies and stays around 20 KB compressed.
  • We publish plain-English guides so site owners can fix issues in their own code too.

What comes next?

We are working on tools that help site owners find and fix accessibility issues in their own pages, so the widget and the site improve together. Have an idea? Tell us.
